In Trikonasana, or Triangle Pose, we root down to rise up — expanding through the heart, lengthening the limbs, and sharpening our focus. This shape invites clarity in both body and mind. With a strong base and open chest, it draws awareness to the relationship between stability and spaciousness, between structure and freedom.
First named in the 17th-century text Hatha Ratnavali, Trikonasana is one of the earliest standing poses mentioned in classical hatha yoga. While it may look simple, it holds within it the essence of yoga: the union of opposites. Grounded and lifted, active and soft, this pose is a reflection of how we show up in life — steady, open, and aligned.
Haṭha Ratnāvalī translates to: “A Garland of the Jewels of Haṭha Yoga”
