Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to Massage with Linda Marie, where I offer personalized, therapeutic massage in Clovis, CA.
Below are answers to common questions about my services.
General Massage Questions
What are the benefits of massage therapy?
Massage therapy promotes relaxation, pain relief, improved circulation, stress reduction, and muscle recovery. It can also help with conditions like headaches, anxiety, and chronic pain.
How often should I get a massage?
The frequency depends on your needs. For relaxation, once a month is great. For pain relief or injury recovery, weekly or bi-weekly sessions may be more beneficial.
What should I expect during my first massage?
Before the session, we’ll discuss your health history and any areas of concern. You’ll then relax on a massage table under a sheet while I apply techniques tailored to your needs. Communication is encouraged to ensure your comfort.
What should I wear for my massage?
Most clients undress to their comfort level. You’ll be covered with a sheet at all times, and only the area being worked on will be exposed.
Massage Services & Techniques
What types of massage do you offer?
I specialize in:
Swedish Massage (relaxation, circulation, stress relief)
Deep Tissue Massage (muscle tension, chronic pain)
Lymphatic Drainage Massage (reduces swelling, supports detox)
Prenatal Massage (for mothers to be)
What is the difference between deep tissue and Swedish massage?
Swedish massage uses light to medium pressure to promote relaxation and circulation. Deep tissue massage targets deeper muscle layers with firmer pressure to release chronic tension.
Does lymphatic drainage massage help with detoxing?
Yes! Lymphatic drainage massage helps stimulate the lymphatic system, promoting detoxification, reducing swelling, and boosting the immune system. It’s great after surgery, illness, or for those experiencing water retention.
Do you offer prenatal massage?
Yes! Prenatal massage is designed for pregnant clients in their second and third trimesters. It relieves tension, reduces swelling, and promotes relaxation.
Before & After Your Massage
Should I eat before my massage?
It’s best to avoid heavy meals right before your session. A light snack is fine, but a full stomach can be uncomfortable
What should I do after my massage?
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and help flush out toxins. Avoid intense workouts for a few hours, and take time to relax for the best results.
Will I feel sore after a massage?
Some soreness is normal, especially after deep tissue work. This should subside within 24-48 hours. Staying hydrated and stretching lightly can help.
